| Hit the Floor Guitar 1 - Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb (Semi-distorted w/lo-fi) Guitar 2 - Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb (Distorted) Guitar 3 - Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb (Distorted) The guitar on this song is pretty basic. Guitar 1 does the softer parts in the intro/verse/bridge, and is palm-muted at all times. The combination of the palm mute with the lo-fi sound really makes it sound almost like old school fuzz distortion, it's pretty neat. Guitars 2 and 3 double each other for all the heavy parts. Single notes and powerchords are really all this song is, with a couple add9 variations on the powerchords in the post-chorus riff. During the outro, there's a bit of digital chopping up of the guitar part. I've just marked those chords as palm mutes, if you cut them off really quickly it'll sound about right. The very last chord has also been edited to drop in pitch very quickly (it matches Joe's scratch at the end, so it's similar to the sound of a turntable slowing down). I've notated this as a downward slide in parenthesis, obviously you can't slide down from an open chord like that but if you have a whammy bar you can just press it in really quick to lower the pitch, or if you have a pitch shifter pedal (such as a Digitech Whammy set to the "divebomb" setting), you can use that. When they played this song live Brad didn't bother trying to emulate the cut-up chords at the end or the divebomb-like effect on the last chord, so you don't really have to bother with either if you don't want. One other thing to note, watch out for the open powerchord at the end of the post-chorus right before the outro, it's not there the first time that part is played earlier in the song.
